Choosing the right darts

Choosing the right darts

There are no right or wrong answers when it comes to choosing what style/weight of darts to buy. The average new player will change there first darts after the first year of throwing. When buying your darts set it all comes down to what you feel most comfortable with.

Dart types

There are many different types/style/weights of darts to choose from including brass darts, wooden and more importantly Tungsten Darts. The most popular type of dart as you may well know, is the Tungsten dart. Tungsten darts are known for the high density and the capability of resisting wear and tear, therefore adding value for money due to darts life expectancy.

Brass and Nickel darts tend to be cheaper and made from much softer metals, this resulting with a higher chance of wear and tear.

It is key to try out different weights of darts to really find out what weight is good for you. Darts are available in weight from 12 – 50 grams however it is fairly rare nowadays in the darting world to find someone throwing a dart over 32grams.

Darts Barrels

Different barrel grips are also available in the weight you have chosen. Some darts barrels with heavy knurling and others are smooth. If your dart has heavy knurling it is easier to grip and vice versa, again its a case of finding the best darts barrel specific to your throwing needs and stick with it.

Darts Flights

As with all other darts products as mentioned there are many different styles of darts flights, some smooth, dimpled, kite, super strong, super thick etc. Try out as many as you can so you can find which ones suit.
